On the way to Commerce – we were looking for a Superdry store and was mislead by Google Maps (dissapointed) – we stopped by a boba shop in Whittier called Chami Tea Bar to find refreshments for our parched throats in the unexpected 90° F weather (I kid you not, weather variability even by 5 degrees is astounding to Californians, and this was a 20 degree difference from Friday!).
It’s a small store located in a decent sized plaza.

Though the exterior doesn’t look very interesting, the interior was wow!

Iniside, one guy was manning the shop but it didn’t take long to make our order and get our drinks.
I got the Chami Mixed Fruit Tea with Boba and my sister got a Watermelon Slush with Pudding.

First time verdict: it’s pretty good! The watermelon was cool and refreshing, the mixed fruit tea was fruity and clean. Overall, we were very happy with the flavor profiles. The add-ons were perfectly made, too; the pudding was caramelized just right and the boba was soft and gooey, just the way I like it.
Nothing much more to say, honestly. If I had to pick one thing I didn’t like, it would be the passionfruit seeds I crunched on every once in awhile in my mixed fruit drink. But that’s just personal preference for ya, I’m not too big a fan of them seeds. I know there are others out there who love the texture differences though.
Anyway, we recommend this store, especially on hot days when a cool slush is in order. We’ll certainly be coming back for more.
